Culinary Arts: Focused on outreach to the community and fundraising, the club is open to anyone interested in the Culinary Arts. Only Culinary students may hold office.
Fellowship of Faith: The purpose of this organization is to have a club in which members of the MGCC community can express their concerns about faith and find fellowship with others who share similar views, create events that promote the environment of faith and initiate an ongoing dialogue that encourages a spirit of unity/harmony even between those of different faiths. Forestry Club: This club strives to advance the science, technology, education and practice of professional forestry and to promote fellowship among students interested in forestry. Members participate in woodsmen competitions within the mid-Atlantic conference. National Society of Leadership & Success (NSLS): The Society is founded upon the core beliefs that one can achieve one’s dreams with the proper support and dedicated action, and that we accomplish more together than we would achieve alone. It began with founder Gary Tuerack’s vision of creating a community where like-minded, success-oriented individuals could come together to learn from and support each other. The Society is an organization that helps people discover and achieve their goals. The Society offers life-changing lectures from the nation’s leading presenters and a community where like-minded, success- oriented individuals come together and help one another succeed. Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) is the largest, most prestigious honor society serving two-year colleges. Membership to MGCC Phi Theta Kappa is by invitation only as students must meet specific eligibility criteria, which is based primarily on academic achievement. MGCC Phi Theta Kappa fosters an environment that promotes the development of leadership, critical thinking, and mentoring skills crucial today. MGCC students will also find valuable resources in regional and national conventions and planned and coordinated Phi Theta Kappa functions. Practical Nurse Program Student Organization: Each student in the MGCC PNP will be a member of the student organization designed to promote practical nursing education by providing leadership and community service opportunities. Every fall, officers will be elected for the year, who along with committee chairpersons, will lead the other members in community service projects, fundraisers and the annual spring pinning ceremony.
Student Senate: As a member of the MGCC Student Senate, you can develop leaderships skills and provide service to the college and the community. Student Senators will represent MGCC student concerns to the College President, the Vice President of Academic Affairs and the Director of Student Services.
Elections are held during the fall and spring semesters on the Monday and Tuesday of the 5th week of school. Additional Student Senate Election Information will be included in weekly emails from Student Activities at the beginning of each semester. TEACH (Teachers Educate and Change Humanity: TEACH is the MGCC organization for students pursuing a career in Education. Our mission is to “provide future educators with current information, opportunities, and experiences that will encourage and enhance their education and career paths, and to encourage said educators with opportunity for leadership and community connection” (TEACH Constitution). TEACH meets monthly and offers workshops for a variety of college pursuits in education, including scholarship opportunities, Praxis preparation, transfer needs and news, portfolio development, and other concerns for students in this challenging career path.
