General Information
The LPN to RN Transition Pathway is designed to provide LPNs with a current unrestricted license in the Commonwealth of Virginia or multi-state license the opportunity to use credit for prior learning to earn the Associate of Applied Science degree in Nursing (Plan Code 156, CIP Code 51.3801), and eligibility to apply to take the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX-RN).
Prepare for work as a practical nurse and learn the knowledge and skills needed to take the NCLEX-PN (National Council Licensure Examination for Practical Nursing). LPNs (Licensed Practical Nurse) perform basic care duties, such as taking vital signs, giving medications, and performing treatments, and help to make patients as comfortable as possible.
A separate application is required. For more information or to apply to the LPN-RN Nursing program, please contact the Nursing Department at 540-863-2838.
