“COLLEGE TOWN” - Clifton Forge Main Street, represented by volunteer Martha Edwards (left) and Interim President Susan Hutchison, presented two posters, “Clifton Forge = College Town,” to Dabney S. Lancaster Community College President Dr. John Rainone recently. The posters, which depict DSLCC’s mascot, the Roadrunner, are part of an ongoing campaign sponsored by CF Main Street to emphasize and promote the town’s close affiliation with the college. “This is a three-pronged campaign,” explains Edwards, who along with Mott Atherholt, was instrumental in getting the project underway. “We’ve distributed over 25 posters to local businesses, there are some large posters in store-front windows along Main and Ridgeway, and the town has installed three metal signs at the three entrances to town.” The poster design was created by Melissa Hundley of Bear Mountain Signs. “This is a show of unity between DSLCC and Clifton Forge that’s been going on for over 50 years, and we wanted to bring awareness to it.” Dr. Rainone plans to place the two posters in conspicuous places on campus.
