CFRE International is proud to announce Dr. John Rainone, President of Dabney S. Lancaster Community College, has recertified as a Certified Fundraising Executive (CFRE). Initially certified in 2007, Rainone joins over 6,700 professionals around the world who hold the CFRE designation.DSLCC President, Dr. John Rainone.
Individuals granted the CFRE credential have met a series of standards set by CFRE International which include tenure in the profession, education, demonstrated fundraising achievement and a commitment to service to not-for-profit organizations. They have also passed a rigorous written examination testing the knowledge, skills, and abilities required of a fundraising executive, and have agreed to uphold Accountability Standards and the Donor Bill of Rights. As the certification is a voluntary achievement, the CFRE credential demonstrates a high level of commitment on the part of Dr. Rainone to himself, the fundraising profession, and, the donors who are served.
Dr. Rainone recently developed a “Nonprofit Institute” at DSLCC, which offers a series of workshops that provide practical applications and knowledge for local nonprofits. These two-hour workshops on topics such as The Board’s Role in Fundraising, Making the Ask, Events-Based Fundraising, The Annual Fund, Capital Campaigns, and Planned Giving have served over 250 individuals since April 2019. CFRE recipients are awarded certification for a three-year period. To maintain certification status, individuals must demonstrate on-going fundraising employment and fundraising results and continue with their professional education.
The CFRE certification program is accredited by the American National Standards Institute and is the only accredited certification for fundraising professionals.
