Billy Ould of Glasgow was one of many students who received diplomas during DSLCC's annual commencement exercises Friday night. Ould, who is on the staff at DSLCC as the Audio Visual Specialist - and is typically in charge of the sound and video at ceremonies like commencement - instead walked across the stage to receive his Associate of Applied Science Degree in Business Management as well as a certificate in Office Management and a Career Studies Certificate in Business Fundamentals. Ould said the last time he participated in a DSLCC commencement ceremony as a student was ten years ago, when he received an Associate in Applied Science degree in Information Systems Technology.
Ashley Neil of Bath County received a standing ovation when she walked across the stage with the help of her brother and a walker, to receive her diploma from DSLCC President Dr. John Rainone during commencement exercises Friday night. She earned an Associate of Applied Science in Information Systems Technology, as well as a Certificate in Microcomputer Operations and a Career Studies Certificate in PC Repair.
