DSLCC Establishes Onie Jane Reynolds Nursing Scholarship
The Dabney S. Lancaster Community College Educational Foundation has announced the creation of the Onie Jane Reynolds Scholarship, established in 2021 by her five children to honor their mother and her life moto of “you can do anything you set your mind to.”
“It was Mrs. Reynolds’ wish to enable an aspiring young person to pursue their education in the nursing profession,” says Dr. John Rainone, DSLCC president. The scholarship will give preference to a second-year nursing student.
Mrs. Reynolds, who resided in Covington, worked for the C&O Railroad for over 25 years. After she retired she became a nursing assistant.
The $5,000 donation was presented recently to Dr. Rainone by Ms. Reynolds’ daughter, Pamela Madison.
