DSLCC Cubby Closet Donation
Due to the main campus and Rockbridge Regional Centers being closed during the pandemic, Dabney S. Lancaster Community College recently donated the majority of the contents of the DSLCC Roadrunner Cubby Closet (the College's food pantry) and the contents of the snack machines on the Clifton Forge campus and the RRC to local area food pantries.
Ted Wiseman was among several Dabney S. Lancaster Community College staff members who recently helped sort, load, and deliver boxes of non-perishable food items from the DSLCC Cubby Closet, a food pantry located on the DSLCC Clifton Forge campus, to two local food pantries. Because the campus is closed due to the current health pandemic, and the Cubby Closet had been fully stocked after a food drive in March, the administration decided to donate the majority of the contents to the Salvation Army in Covington and the Clifton Forge Food Pantry. The donated items were estimated to total 1,100 pounds.
Cordell Farley, Sr. (center) and Cordell Farley, Jr., both from the Farley Experience, LLC, of Richmond, recently donated over 500 snacks from the vending machines on the Dabney S. Lancaster Community College Clifton Forge campus, as well as more than 200 snacks from the DSLCC Rockbridge Regional Center in Buena Vista, to area food banks. The company provides snacks for all of the DSLCC vending machines. At right is Angie Graham, DSLCC Vice President of Financial and Administrative Services.
