Dabney S. Lancaster Community College had the highest fall enrollment increase in the Virginia Community College System, with numbers up 11% over fall 2015 figures.
DSLCC President Dr. John Rainone commented on the increase, stating, “We are extremely pleased that so many new and returning students joined us this fall. More students are selecting DSLCC as their college of choice, taking advantage of our quality educational programs and services. With our affordable tuition rates and many forms of financial assistance, it is common for our graduates to leave with small, if any, student loans to repay.”
The growing number of transfer agreements has also helped to spur enrollment growth. Graduates of selected DSLCC programs who meet eligibility guidelines are guaranteed admission to over 35 colleges and universities. More agreements are currently being developed and will be announced soon for transferring into BS programs in culinary arts and IST/cybersecurity.
Spring Semester Registration is underway and classes begin the week of January 9, 2017. For more information about DSLCC, call Student Services on the Clifton Forge campus at (540) 863-2820 or the DSLCC Rockbridge Regional Center at (540) 261-1211. Visit www.dslcc.edu.
