Dabney S. Lancaster Community College will host three separate commencement exercises for 2021 graduates on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, May 13-15, it has been announced by DSLCC President Dr. John Rainone.
The Thursday and Friday evening ceremonies will begin at 7:00 pm, with a Saturday morning ceremony starting at 10:00 am. All three will take place in the Convocation Center on the DSLCC Clifton Forge campus.
The Thursday night ceremony will feature the graduates of the Associate Degree in Nursing and the Practical Nursing Certificate programs, and will also include the annual Pinning Ceremony for nurses.
Graduates of the transfer programs will receive diplomas during Friday night’s ceremony, while those completing career and technical programs or FastForward credential program will receive diplomas during the Saturday morning ceremony.
The College has been closed to the public since mid-March of 2020, when the COVID-19 pandemic hit the nation. Classes have been offered online since that time.
“A small task force has determined that we will be able to keep everyone safe by having three ceremonies and the graduates will be limited to four guests they can invite,” announced DSLCC President Dr. John Rainone. “I look forward to celebrating these special days with our students.”
DSLCC 2021 graduates should continue to check their student email for instructions and more information. Anyone who still needs to pick up their cap and gown should contact Jana Evans at the DSLCC Bookstore to schedule an appointment.
All of the commencement exercises are closed to the public, but they will be livestreamed via YouTube. A link to all three ceremonies on the dates and times they are scheduled may be found at https://www.dslcc.edu/graduation.
