Dabney S. Lancaster Community College Educational Foundation is once again hosting its biennial fundraiser, “Bubbles, Bands & Brunch—Tailgate Edition,” which will be held Sunday, September 15 at 12:30 p.m. in the Convocation Center on the Clifton Forge campus. According to Educational Foundation Director, Rachael Thompson, this year’s event will take on the festive atmosphere of everyone’s favorite sporting activity – the tailgate party! Guests are invited to wear their favorite sports team apparel or colors.
Catering will be provided by Schaal’s Catering and Events of Fincastle and feature something for everyone – with a tailgate themed menu, including sliders, shrimp and grits, ribs, and southern fried pecan encrusted chicken and waffles. In addition, local breweries and vineyards will be on hand to offer a sampling of brews, ciders, and wines, including Bacova Beer Company. Tailgate games and performances by area high school bands, including Alleghany, Covington, and Bath County high schools, will top off the day. A silent auction of more than twenty items will also take place, featuring Garth Newel dinner and entertainment for two, a private chef experience, golf for four, and YMCA memberships.
The Foundation thanks its many sponsors, donors, and partners, including several from Bath County – The Omni Homestead Resort (corporate partner), Bath Community Hospital (sponsor), Garth Newel Music Center (silent auction donor), and Bacova Beer Company (beer tasting partner).
Seating is limited. Tickets may be purchased anytime, as long as seats remain available, at www.dslcc.edu/bubbles. Call 863-2934 or email rthompson@dslcc.edu for more information.
