A new non-credit class, “Introduction to Fly Fishing," has been added to the summer schedule by Dabney S. Lancaster Community College's Workforce Solutions and Community Education Division, on Saturday, August 4, from 8 am to noon on the DSLCC main campus in Clifton Forge.
Matt McGraw is the instructor for this hands-on workshop, suitable for anglers age 12 and older, with or without prior fishing experience. Participants will learn the basics of fly angling, including necessary gear, casting a fly rod, rigging, types of flies, fishing technique, and basic knots.
Rods will be available for student use, but participants are asked to bring their own if possible, and to wear comfortable clothing, as well as a hat and sunglasses. Space is limited to five participants.
