Leaders at Mountain Gateway Community College are excited to announce the upcoming youth tennis and archery camps for local students this summer.
The college will be organizing two tennis camps, one for students in third through sixth grade and another for those in seventh through twelfth grade. The camp for younger students will take place from June 10 to June 14, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. daily, while the camp for older students will be held from June 24 to June 28, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. daily. Both camps will be hosted at Clifton Academy (formerly Clifton Middle School) in Low Moor, and the registration fee is $50 per participant. Seth Davis and Scott Dudding, the tennis coaches at Alleghany High School, will be leading the camp, with potential assistance from some of their players.
In addition to the tennis camps, MGCC will also be hosting an Archery Camp on the Clifton Forge campus from June 17 to June 21, with daily sessions from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Parents are encouraged to attend the final day of the camp to watch the end-of-camp tournament and awards ceremony. Participants will have the opportunity to receive a camp t-shirt (limited quantity available). The registration fee for this camp is $300 per participant.
