Jackson River Governor’s School Hosts 2025 Research Fair
Student Projects Showcase Curiosity, Creativity, and Critical Thinking
Clifton Forge, VA — On April 9, 2025, the Jackson River Governor’s School held its annual Research Fair, where students in the Introduction to Research program presented a wide range of innovative and thoughtful projects. From food science to AI and athletic safety, the fair celebrated student-led inquiry into real-world topics.
Kinlee Huffman was awarded a top honor for her project, “Cupcake Wars: Gluten Free Flour vs. All Purpose Flour,” and Dylan Tyree also took home a trophy for his project, “Detergent Duel: Analyzing the Effectiveness of Different Detergent Brands in Removing Stains.”
Additional projects included Kayden Jack’s study on the effects of soil pH on basil growth, Cadiz Marshall’s analysis of artificial intelligence in Virginia and Kentucky schools, Keegan Morris’ research on concussions in contact sports, Rayshan Richardson’s investigation into the effectiveness of Guardian Caps, and James Ross’ exploration of what makes the “best” ice cube.
The April 9 event highlighted the creativity, dedication, and research skills of students at Jackson River Governor’s School, offering a glimpse into the bright futures of these young scholars.
