General Information
Licensed Massage Therapists (LMTs) treat clients by manipulating the muscles and other soft tissues of the body to relieve pain, help heal injuries, improve circulation, relieve stress, and increase relaxation. They aid in the general wellness of their clients.
This course is designed to equip students with the skills and competencies necessary to enter into the field of massage therapy. Students who complete training and achieve a passing score on the MBLEx certification exam are equipped with the foundation and skills needed in modern clinical massage therapy settings.
Therapists may specialize in many different types of massage, called modalities. Swedish massage, Deep-Tissue massage, and Sports massage are just a few of the many modalities practiced. Most massage therapists specialize in several modalities, each of which requires different techniques.
