Mountain Gateway Community College is thrilled to congratulate Adelia Turnbull, a standout student in the Information Systems Technology program, for her remarkable achievement in earning the Cisco Certified Support Technician (CCST) Cybersecurity certification.
The CCST Cybersecurity certification is a significant validation of Adelia's expertise in entry-level cybersecurity concepts and topics. This certification confirms her understanding of essential security principles, network and endpoint security concepts, vulnerability assessment, risk management, and incident handling. Adelia's accomplishment demonstrates her preparedness to address and manage cybersecurity challenges in today's digital landscape.
In addition to her industry-level certification, Adelia has recently earned her Associate of Applied Science (A.A.S.) Degree in Information Systems Technology from Mountain Gateway Community College. This combination of achievement showcases her dedication, hard work, and academic excellence within the program.
The CCST Cybersecurity certification represents an important first step toward the advanced CyberOps Associate certification, positioning Adelia for further success in her cybersecurity career. Furthermore, Adelia is excited to begin her professional journey later this month as an IT Support Specialist in Lynchburg, where she will undoubtedly make significant contributions.

Students wishing to pursue a career in Cybersecurity can now apply for MG-TEC IT Academy. Eligible students – high school sophomores, juniors, and seniors – will earn industry-recognized certifications, like the CCST Networking Certification, setting them on the fast track to their careers.
