Mountain Gateway Community College is pleased to announce our participation in the Virginia
Veteran Laptop Project (VVLP), a collaboration between Virginia Community College Systems
and the Virginia Department of Veterans Services. The initiative aims to assist our respected
veterans and spouses of military personnel in their academic endeavors.
Twenty laptops and twenty chargers supplied by Tech for Troops (T4T) were presented to Tim
Cary, Rockbridge Regional Center Manager and Veteran Coordinator, last Wednesday by T4T
President Mark Casper along with John Hall, DVS Military Education and Workforce Initiative
Program Manager.
“We really wanted to try to expand exposure to DVS services and to put our resources in the
hands of people who need it,” Hall said.
Eligible applicants must be a veteran or spouse of a veteran and be a student at the college.
They do not have to be taking credit classes nor using their GI Bill benefits to qualify.
