Dabney S. Lancaster Community College’s Workforce Solutions and Community Education Division will offer a two-day class, “OSHA 10 for Construction,” at the DSLCC Rockbridge Regional Center in Buena Vista on Saturdays, June 19 and 26, from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm.
This is an entry-level workplace hazard recognition and prevention course. David Shofstahl, DSLCC’s Apprenticeship Coordinator, is the instructor.
Based on OSHA’s 29 CFR Part 1926 regulations, the OSHA 10 for Construction training course includes topics such as cranes and rigging, electrical safety, machine guarding safety, hand and power tools, scaffolds, stairs, and ladders, among many others.
Upon successful completion of the course, participants will be awarded an official OSHA 10 Card for Construction. The tuition fee is $95. The DSLCC Rockbridge Center is located at 35 Vista Links Drive, Buena Vista.
Tuition for registered apprentices will be covered by Expanding Community College Apprenticeships (ECCA) grant funds. Registered apprentices should contact Shofstahl directly at (540) 863-2920 or email dshofstahl@dslcc.edu to enroll.
