Rachael Thompson (left), Executive Director of the Dabney S. Lancaster Community College Educational Foundation, accepts a donation from Joann Carter Henson, owner and operator of the Red Lantern Inn in Clifton Forge, for the biennial “Bubbles, Bands and Brunch” event held last September on the DSLCC Clifton Forge campus. The Red Lantern Inn was one of the many benefactors who helped support the scholarship fund-raiser, which has awarded more than $70,000 in student scholarships to more than 100 students since its inception in 2003. “Bubbles” supports DSLCC students through scholarships, classroom equipment, student support services and other initiatives. Part of the proceeds went toward launching the new DSLCC athletic program, which began in November. For more information about the DSLCC Educational Foundation or to make a donation, please call (540) 863-2837 or email rthompson@dslcc.edu.
