Mountain Gateway Community College was one of two organizations nominated for the Virginia School Board Association (VSBA) Business Honor Roll by the Rockbridge County School Board during its March meeting.
“We are incredibly honored to be nominated for this recognition from Rockbridge County Public Schools. I am so proud of our long-time partnership with the staff and administration of Rockbridge Schools because they have one focus: to best serve the area's students,” said MGCC President Dr. Rainone. “We look forward to many more future opportunities.”
The VSBA Business Honor Roll award is one way the RCSB can show appreciation for its partners that support the school system.
MGCC is an active partner in other Rockbridge educational events, including the CareerFest, career fair, mock interviews and college fair.
“MGCC’s significant impact and meaningful partnership with RCPS is undeniable, allowing our students to thrive academically and develop essential life skills for their future endeavors,” the proposal read.
Rockbridge County High School has more than 200 students participating in dual enrollment. The MGCC Culinary Lab at the Buena Vista Workforce Center has been put to good use by the RCHS Culinary Arts program where students utilize the space as the Rockbridge Innovation Center undergoes renovations.
Pure Eats Restaurant was also nominated for the award during the meeting.
Both MGCC and Pure Eats Restaurant will be recognized for being nominated at a later meeting.
