General Information
The Science Associate of Science degree represents the first two years of a four-year college or university degree in one of the many natural science and other STEM careers. In this program, a student will engage in the rigorous study of initial courses in mathematics and sciences which lead to the more advanced courses to be taken when the student transfers into the third year of a four-year college or university. Also, during the first two years, the student will complete humanities and social science requirements and electives, allowing more time in his or her final two years for intensive study in a science major.
MGCC’s Science A.S. degree has been configured to support the following TransferVirginia Pathways: Biology, Chemistry, Engineering, Kinesiology, Mathematics, Computer Science, Chemistry, and Environmental Science. For more information, visit https://www.transfervirginia.org/.
