Dabney S. Lancaster Community College’s division of Workforce Solutions and Community Education is offering a full slate of non-credit courses in the areas of health care and skilled trades this fall. Many are being offered as hybrid courses, with online as well as classroom instruction.
All of the courses listed below are eligible for tuition assistance, through the FastForward program, and students who complete the coursework are eligible to sit for certification exams.
In the health care field, Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) begins August 24; Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), August 26; Massage Therapy, September 21 at the Roanoke Higher Education Center and September 29 at the DSLCC Rockbridge Regional Center in Buena Vista; and Pharmacy Technician, September 14.
Courses in the skilled trades include: Introduction to Skilled Trades, beginning September 8 and September 10; Electrical, Level 1, September 15,; Heating Venting and Air Conditioning (HVAC), Level 1, September 16; and Shielded Metal Arc Welding, August 25; and Gas Metal Arc Welding, October 14.
