Dabney S. Lancaster Community College hosted its 51st annual commencement exercises Friday night in the DSLCC Convocation Center on the Clifton Forge campus. One hundred eighty-six graduates were awarded associate degrees, certificates, and career studies certificates to a standing-room-only crowd of family members and well-wishers.

Page Michaela Terry of Botetourt County was selected to serve as student speaker during the annual Commencement Exercises at Dabney S. Lancaster Community College, held Friday night on the Clifton Forge campus. Terry earned an Associate of Arts and Sciences Degree in General Studies, as well as the General Education Certificate from DSLCC.

Megan Leigh Humphries of Covington was honored as the recipient of the coveted Gary Lee Miller Outstanding Graduate Award during the annual Commencement Exercises Friday night at Dabney S. Lancaster Community College in Clifton Forge.

Covington businessman John H. Stone was recognized as this year’s recipient of the Dabney S. Lancaster Community College Educational Foundation’s Distinguished Alumni Award during DSLCC’s Commencement Exercises Friday night. A 1975 DSLCC graduate and 1977 graduate of Virginia Tech, Stone is owner and operator of John H.

Richmond – Temple Baptist Church, of Covington, Virginia, through the Estate of Ovella Worsham, has received the 13th Annual Chancellor’s Award for Leadership in Philanthropy. The church was nominated for the award by Dabney S. Lancaster Community College.

Tina Hawley (left) of Covington, who serves as Head of the Nursing Program at Dabney S. Lancaster Community College, was honored as DSLCC’s Educator of the Year at the annual meeting of the Alleghany Highlands Chamber of Commerce and Tourism, held April 7 at the Omni Homestead Resort in Hot Springs.

David Shofstahl’s dream of laying bricks and working construction while at the same time helping to develop similar skills in other people has come full circle.

The Virginia National Guard Armory’s Clifton Forge Readiness Center was officially closed and the facility was transferred to the State Board for Community Colleges, the Virginia Community College System, and Dabney S. Lancaster Community College during a closure ceremony hosted by the Guard Wednesday morning.
